DHL plans more investment in Philippines; optimistic on trade growth

DHL, the integrated parcel, express and logistics provider, said it plans to invest more in the Philippines after having injected 30 mln in the last two years to beef up its facilities here.

At a news briefing, DHL Express Philippines country manager Charles Brewer said the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific are promising markets.

“Although there are factors … that will impact on imports and exports the fact is, we still see a double-digit growth for both the Philippines and the Asia-Pacific,” Brewer said.

“There will be more (investments) to come,” he added, without giving details.

DHL’s investments in the region totaled about 350 mln usd, including about 100 mln for its hub in Hong Kong.
