FedEx pledges $1m for Hurricane Irma relief efforts

FedEx has committed $1m in cash and transportation support to deliver critical medical aid and supplies in the wake of Hurricane Irma. This commitment, announced yesterday (12 September), is in addition to the $1m FedEx pledged after Hurricane Harvey.

The hurricanes have caused extensive damage in the US and the Caribbean and disrupted deliveries in Florida, Texas and Tennessee.

In its latest update on the situation, FedEx said: “The impacts of Hurricanes Irma and Harvey continue to cause hazardous conditions in the south central and southeastern regions of the U.S. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our team members. Although contingency plans are in place, some service delays and disruptions can be anticipated for inbound and outbound shipments in the south central and southeastern regions of the U.S. FedEx is committed to providing service to the best of our ability in areas that can be safely accessed.”
