The UPS Store network hits 5,000-location milestone

UPS has announced that The UPS Store network now extends to more than 5,000 locations in North America. “The franchise now has a store within 10 miles of 84% of the US population,” said Tim Davis, president of The UPS Store. Davis added that: “The prospect for growth in the years ahead is positive.”

In a statement issued yesterday (19 September), UPS said that it has not only been expanding the network, but also broadening the range of services and developing alternate store concepts. These include: a store-in-store model, featuring small-footprint stores inside existing high-traffic retailers, such as pharmacies, hardware and grocery stores; and also the “Main Street Model”, offering reduced franchise fees for people who want to start a franchise in a rural or underserved location.
