DHL Freight building new Hanover hub

DHL Freight building new Hanover hub

DHL Freight will build a new freight hub at the Hanover Airport Business Park in Langenhagen.

The facility will boost DHL Freight’s capacity for both LTL (less than truckload) and FTL (full truck load) transport. Ground is scheduled to be broken at the new site at the beginning of next year.

In a statement issued yesterday (13 November), Deutsche Post DHL Group said that a transshipment terminal equipped with over 80 loading bays and stretching across more than 7,800 sqm will provide sufficient capacity to process in excess of 600,000 tons of LTL cargo a year. The development of the DHL Freight site also includes the consolidation of the two existing Hanover sites (Stelingerstrasse and Büttnerstrasse) at the new location.

The company said that it is making “an eight-figure investment” in the new hub.
