UPS opens new facility near Montpellier
UPS has opened a new facility in Mauguio-Carnon, near Montpellier.
In a statement issued on Friday (16 November), Christophe Boustouller, country manager, UPS France, said: “France is a key market for UPS our export volume grew by more than 10% in the third quarter of 2017.
“This investment demonstrates our long-standing commitment to helping our customers in France grow and connect to markets all over the world.”
Located in the cargo area of the Montpellier-Méditerranée airport in Mauguio-Carnon, the 15,800 square meter facility offers convenient access to the E15 and E80 motorways. The center has a sorting capacity of more than 2,500 packages per hour and can accommodate 65 delivery vehicles. Package deliveries in Aude, Gard, Hérault and Pyrénées Orientales are handled in the facility, which also serves as a hub for cross border shipments.
Other recent UPS investments in France include a $100m package sorting and delivery facility in Corbeil-Essonnes/Evry, which is due to open in 2018. A combined delivery facility and the UPS France headquarters also opened in Paris earlier this year.
