Iceland becomes latest addition to PNLs Nordic postal alliance

Owned by the Norwegian and Danish Post Offices, Pan Nordic Logistics (PNL), is now completing its Nordic postal alliance by signing an agreement with Iceland Post. The result will be a comprehensive network reaching all households and companies in Iceland, the rest of the Nordic region, and the Baltic region. This partnership with Iceland Post means that the company is integrating its network. In the long run, Iceland Post and PNL will jointly develop services for the Nordic market.

Iceland Post is yet another in the list of Nordic postal companies that have chosen to become partners with PNL. The Finnish Post Office and Baltic postal companies have already adopted into PNLs Nordic postal alliance.

“This new partnership with Iceland Post means that our Nordic offer is complete and we now have the most comprehensive network in the Nordic region. Our next step is to find a strong international partner to further strengthen our global offering,” says Benny Rhe Hansen, MD of Pan Nordic Logistics.

Iceland is an expansive market, with imports and exports of packages and pallets from the entire Nordic region. Last year, the Icelandic postal company had a turnover of 475 MSEK, and profits have further increased this year, to 13 MSEK.

“The Nordic region is an important economical region for Iceland and Iceland Post. With this partnersship with PNL Iceland Post can secure an extensive and economical service to our customers within the Nordic region,” says Einar Þorsteinsson General Manager of Iceland Post ltd.
