Spanish Nacex Opens Logistics Platforms in Seville, Vitoria

Spanish express delivery firm Nacex, a subsidiary of logistics company Logista, has opened two new logistics platforms in Seville and Vitoria, in southwestern and northern Spain respectively, the company said on June 16, 2003.

Nacex has also expanded its facilities in Jaen and Valencia, southern and eastern Spain. The investments in the new facilities and the expansion of already existing ones totalled 1.0 mln euro ($1.2 mln), the company said.

Nacex, founded in 1995, has currently a network of 249 agencies and 14 logistics platforms, which offer a geographic coverage of Spain, Andorra and Portugal.

Nacex carried out 2.2 million express deliveries in the first quarter of 2003, up 18.5 pct year-on-year.

The company carried out 8.0 million express deliveries in 2002, up 16.8 pct year-on-year. According to the company, the increase was nearly two times higher than the average for the sector.

Nacex invested a total of 4.8 mln euro ($5.7 mln) in facilities development in 2002.
