Deliveroo launches Lunchbox delivery service in London

Deliveroo has launched a new “Lunchbox” service in parts of London, which will enable customers to order selected meals from participating restaurants for £6 – with delivery included.

The meals are produced by restaurants taking part in Deliveroo’s “dark kitchen” operation, Deliveroo Editions. According to the company Deliveroo Editions “enables restaurants to reach new customers without needing a high street premises by providing delivery-only kitchens “.

Deliveroo Editions launched in London, then expanded to Reading, Brighton and Leeds.

Sources reported that the service is currently only available in parts of East London from Monday to Friday, but may roll out farther afield in the New Year. One assumes that the expansion would be to other parts of London, and perhaps the towns which are already covered by Deliveroo Editions.
