Europa’s Newcastle branch reports 15% turnover increase

The Newcastle branch of logistics provider Europa Worldwide Group has reported that its turnover grow by more than 15% last year.

The team, based at Monkton Business Park in South Tyneside, also saw its consignment volumes increase by over a third in the same period.

Branch Manager at Europa Newcastle, Mat Jobson, said: “We’re thrilled with our rate of growth over the past year. 2017 was our most profitable in 23 years, which reflects both the growing reputation of Europa as one of leading logistics providers in this country and the industrial confidence of the region we serve.

“The automotive sector is hugely important to our business and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to expand our customer-base whilst working cost-efficiently and providing the best possible service. It’s great to see these record figures and we hope to build upon this success in 2018.”

Europa’s Newcastle branch has also experienced success following the introduction of the company’s MBX service for its road customers. The new express product, introduced in August last year, offers Europa customers the opportunity to benefit from a full refund of freight charges if Europa fails to deliver to the customer’s defined and agreed transit time.

According to Jobson: “MBX has been a real winner for us here in the North East. Our customers from the manufacturing sector have been impressed with the fact that they are now able to send engineers overseas, confident in the fact that the goods will arrive when expected.”
