That Winning Feeling
The first question that every new Olympic champion is asked when they cross the finish line is: “What does winning this medal mean to you?”
We asked the same question of our winners at the 2017 World Post & Parcel Awards, which took place in June in Paris, and we hope that their responses and enthusiasm will inspire you to apply this year.
Here is just a selection of their comments:
Dr Bernard Leong, Head of Post Office Network and Digital Services at Singapore Post, told us: “I was so surprised that we managed to win in the same category (Retail Customer Access) for the second time in a row. We are humbled by the experience and energised to continue the work towards our vision of the future post office.”
Mark Siviter, Managing Director – Mails and Retail at Post Office Limited, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to win the Post & Parcel Customer Service Award. I think it really highlights just how much our businesses is developing and adapting to meet customer needs – and long may it continue. All of us at the Post Office are aware of the incredible transformation which has taken place across our business, but it’s fantastic to get industry recognition and to have so many postal leaders from around the world congratulate me on our achievements.”
Jan Walsh, Strategic Account & Proposition Director at ArrowXL, had this to say: “It is a great honour for ArrowXL to win the World Post & Parcel Award for Delivery on Demand. Every member of our team that played a role in the app’s development is incredibly happy to have his or her achievements recognised on such a prestigious stage. Our retail clients will rest assured that they have seamless access to an award-winning platform that really does enrich the consumer journey!”
Deutsche Post DHL Group won the Corporate Social Responsibility award and Kathrin Mohr, Head of the GoHelp program, said: “Winning this award for our CR activities and especially Global Volunteer Day is a wonderful appreciation of our work and will give our employees another push to do good and to continue inspiring others.”
Kushal Nahata, Co-founder & CEO of FarEye, said he and his team were “delighted and humbled” to receive the Technology award for their logistics management solution. “This win is dedicated to each and every client and employee of FarEye and our team is elated to receive the honours on a global platform,” said Kushal. “This victory is a testament to FarEye’s vision of making logistics ‘smarter’ with cloud.”
And finally, a few words from a double-winner! Ireland’s An Post scooped two accolades at the 2017 World Post & Parcel Awards.
“It was incredible to win in both categories; innovation and eCommerce,” said Fiona Heffernan, Head of Post Media at An Post. “From speaking with the judges during and after the ceremony, the calibre was high so to win the first one, I was delighted, and then the second, it was a great feeling. To be recognised for our success on a global stage was a real honour.”
