La Poste extending partnership with Casino Group with more same-day and next-day services

Le Groupe La Poste has announced that it is extending its home delivery partnership with the Casino Group.

The French postal operator started its grocery delivery partnership with the Casino Group in 2015 working with the Franprix brand in Paris, and the partnership now extends to the Cdiscount and Monoprix brands across a large part of France.

In a statement issued yesterday, La Poste said that the new services included the new “Next Day on-demand”, which will be available to Cdiscount customers in Paris from June 2018. Online shoppers will be able to order a next-day delivery within a 30-minute time slot. The deliveries will be handled by La Poste’s subsidiaries Chronopost and Stuart.

In addition, La Poste announced that the “Chrono sameday” service which started operating in Paris, Bordeaux, Lille and Lyon in 2017 is now available in Strasbourg and Marseille – and will extend to Nantes and Rennes in the second half of 2018. Customers who place an online order before 2pm will receive their deliveries between 7pm and 10pm that evening.

As previously reported by Post&Parcel, the Casino Group has also recently extended its e-fulfilment operations through a partnership with the online grocery specialist Ocado. As part of that deal, Ocado will make its Ocado Smart Platform available to the Casino Group and it will also build an automated warehouse to serve the Greater Paris area and the Normandie and Hauts de France regions.
