CMS Celebrates 50 years of Success

Managed mail and delivery expert CMS is celebrating its golden anniversary after 50 successful years of operation.

The Rotherhithe-based company, whose clients include Barclays, Sage, Bauer and Haymarket, was founded in New York in 1968. The company’s origins were in the secure and compliant distribution of financial research and IPO (Initial Public Offering) documentation – a service CMS still provides for leading financial businesses across the globe today.

By 1998, growth allowed CMS to open its first international office in London, and expansion has continued to the point where the business now has 22 offices and agents across Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and Australasia.

Today, CMS is a cornerstone of The Delivery Group, the UK’s fourth largest mail company. CMS services have expanded in line with the growth of the business, from rapid hand delivery across the City of London to a one stop shop providing full UK and international courier services, international and domestic mail and the management of more than 200 mailrooms for high-profile organisations. Recently through its investment in its e-comm platform it is producing record growth in this rapidly growing highly demanding area of its expansion strategy.

Steve Stokes, CEO, CMS comments: “For any business, hitting the 50 year milestone is something to be proud of. Our longevity and continued success is the result of a combination of factors but key amongst them is the partnership approach that we take with all clients. We take the time to fully understand client needs and we work hard to build trust.

“Our client-list makes for truly impressive reading, and we look forward to providing industry leading service for them – and for new customers – for many, many years to come.”

The business will be holding a celebratory drinks reception for clients later in the year.
