Toshiba launches dynaEdge mobile computing device with AR smart glasses

Toshiba has launched the dynaEdge DE-100 Windows 10-based mobile edge computing device, which is available  with Assisted Reality AR100 Viewer smart glasses.

In a statement issued yesterday (12 March), Toshiba said that the computer and smart glasses combination will give “frontline workers” in manufacturing, logistics, and maintenance environments “unhindered and hands-free connectivity”.

The device incorporates Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS technologies – enabling the smart glasses to connect to the corporate network, send and receive data, stream live video and track assets.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of the wearable-enterprise space, introducing the first monocular Assisted Reality solution to combine the power of a Windows 10 Pro PC, the robust feature set of industrial-grade smart glasses, and industry-specific workflow efficiency provided through our partnership with Ubimax,” said Maki Yamashita, Senior Vice President, PC & Solutions EMEA, Toshiba Europe.

“This blend enables us to deliver next-level workflow and efficiency optimisation to frontline workers.”
