Nippon Express launches U.S. domestic service

Nippon Express, one of the world’s biggest international freight forwarders, has launched a domestic air and truck service to select U.S. cities.

The service is initially available from Seattle and Portland to Chicago and other Midwest destinations and New York. Nippon said it will gradually expand the list of destinations it serves.

The Japan-based forwarder said it’s offering three service levels – next-day, second-day and deferred. It also provides pick-ups and door-to-door delivery. Nippon launched the service late last month.

Nippon said its online service, Skynet, allows customers to track and trace shipments, get e-mail notification and real-time data.
