Walmart Canada selects FourKites for predictive supply chain tracking and analytics
Walmart Canada will be using FourKites’ analytics platform to provide real-time location tracking and predictive shipment arrival times across its Canadian operations.
The retailer’s Canadian network spans over 400 stores and more than a dozen distribution centres.
In a statement issued by FourKites yesterday (3 April), John Bayliss, senior vice president, logistics & supply chain with Walmart Canada, said: “We will use FourKites’ predictive tracking technology to know precisely when shipments will arrive at our distribution centers and at our stores, so we can ensure that customers find the products they’re looking for so they can save money and live better.”
At store-level, Walmart Canada managers will use FourKites’ mobile app to get real-time updates on load delivery to more efficiently determine when employees should plan to unload and stock product.
The retailer will use the FourKites Insights product to “spot patterns and optimization opportunities across its operations, analyzing metrics including detention time and cost by facility, on-time performance by carrier, metrics by lane, and by supplier”.
