Postmates testing pickup service

Postmates testing pickup service

US-based on-demand delivery company Postmates has started testing a new pickup service in San Francisco and reportedly plans to have an official launch in the next couple of weeks.

According to an article published by TechCrunch on Friday (6 April), a Postmates spokesperson said that more than 200 merchants were currently taking part in the Pickup service.

Once Pickup is officially up and running in San Francisco, Postmates plans to expand the service to New York and Los Angeles within the next couple of months.

Intriguingly, TechCrunch – along with Recode and other US media –  also reported that Postmates may be looking to team up with fellow on-demand delivery player DoorDash. However, Postmates and DoorDash declined to comment on the rumour.
