Amazon completes Ring deal

Amazon has completed its acquisition of the home security products company Ring.

Ring’s product line includes a Video Doorbell, which combines a smart doorbell with a built-in security camera. There are obvious benefits to promoting this device to more homeowners for a company like Amazon, which makes its huge revenues from home deliveries.

In a statement issued yesterday (12 April), Amazon announced that the two companies have marked their new relationship by lowering the price of the Ring Video Doorbell. In the UK, the new price is £89.

Amazon’s relationship with Ring began in 2016 through the Alexa Fund, the company’s investment arm to support companies with technologies that are innovating with voice.
