MoneyGram expanding digital service
Money transfer and payment services provider MoneyGram is launching its online platform in five new countries: Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Portugal and Austria.
In a statement issued today (18 July), Alex Holmes, MoneyGram’s chairman and chief executive officer, commented: “Innovative technology is changing the way we meet our customer’s financial needs. In 2018 and beyond MoneyGram will continue to accelerate our digital expansion around the globe. We want to give MoneyGram customers more choice when they use money transfer services and to ensure we are well positioned to compete in today’s fast-paced world.”
MoneyGram said its investment into new digital platforms is “delivering tangible results”. In the first quarter of 2018, said MoneyGram, digital revenue represented 16% of total money transfer revenue.
In addition to the five new countries announced today, MoneyGram’s online platform is also available in the US, the UK, Germany, France and Spain.
Last week, MoneyGram and the UK Post Office announced that they had extended their agreement to provide money transfer services inside thousands of UK Post Office locations through 2021.
