DHL UK Foundation announces Chairman

The charity invests over £1.6 million annually in charitable activities, grants and donations and reaches over 30,000 children each year. Funding is focused on those aged between 5 and 25 years and places an emphasis on helping children to get the most out of education, boosting their employability and engaging them in a meaningful way with the DHL business.

With a career spanning almost 40 years, Mr Watts brings significant market knowledge to the Foundation. Perry Watts joined the Board of DHL UK Foundation in 2017. In his new role as Chairman, Mr Watts will oversee the DHL UK Foundation’s continued growth and will support the Board and wider team to fulfil the objectives set out in its 2020 strategy.

By 2020, the DHL UK Foundation has the ambition to support 57,500 children and young people, to partner with 350 schools, and to engage 1,750 DHL colleagues who will volunteer over 60,000 hours in the community.

Perry Watts comments: “For over 100 years, The DHL UK Foundation has been conducting important work to support the communities in which DHL operates. I am proud to be at the helm as we expand our ambitions for 2020 and look forward to supporting the team to make a difference to the lives of still more children and young people over the coming years.”
