Asendia strengthens its position as e-commerce solution provider

Asendia is to acquire wnDirect – a global e-commerce delivery specialists, with more than 100 employees, and with customers in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA.

As part of this overall strategy to continually develop and grow e-commerce delivery solutions, wnDirect will be joining the Asendia Group from 1st January 2019. Within the UK, wnDirect will be merged with Asendia UK, creating a new, larger, eCommerce focused, technology driven business with an expanded range of commercial and postal delivery services, mail solutions, and fulfilment capabilities. This new Asendia UK will have more than 400 employees, and a revenue >£200m per year.

Both organisations, Asendia UK and wnDirect, will start to merge together from January 2019, operating as one operational unit, Asendia UK, under the leadership of CEO, Simon BATT, who is currently CEO of wnDirect.

From January 2019, it will still be ‘business as usual’ for customers and suppliers. The companies will merge together in an organised manner over a period of time, and so nothing will change on day 1. However, the company will aim to find ways to work to use the expanded range of capabilities to offer new and improved solutions to all our customers, making the most of the commercial and postal networks and services the new combined company will have at its disposal, helping to overcome the challenges of eCommerce international cross border trade.
