DHL forecasts 20% growth in Chile in 2004

DHL Express projects operations in Chile will rise 20% this year, well above the worldwide company average of 13 reports Marketing Manager Ricardo Norambuena.

The new growth is a result of Chile’s decision to adhere to its free trade treaty with the U.S., and DHL developed new services and products supported by the agreement. DHL also has broadened services to include purchase orders for exporters. Procurement services, now based on an Internet web portal, are geared to forestry, mining and retail areas.

DHL’s main domestic service, Transporte Expreso Nacional, has a network of 15 branches throughout Chile to provide delivery anywhere in the country.
