Post Danmark reports profit of DKK466m in 2003

The Danish postal service Post Danmark has reportedly posted a profit of DKK466m in 2003, as compared to DKK52m in 2002.

Post Danmark’s primary operating result reportedly amounted to DKK722m, the best result in the history of the national postal service.

In 2002 Post Danmark reportedly posted a primary operating result of DKK638m.

The number of letters sent had decreased by 4.2 percent in 2003, and was expected to decrease even further in 2004.

“The result is very satisfactory, especially because the period was marked by a drop in letter volume and net turnover. The good result is due to the fact that we were able to adjust our costs to the development,” said Post Danmark administrative director Helge Israelsen, according to the online edition of Danish newspaper The Copenhagen Post.
