Deutsche Post expected to increase letter mail prices by 10% from July
The Bundesnetzagentur – the German regulatory office for electricity, gas, telecommunications, post and railway – has published the draft decision regarding the bundling of services as well as the proposed pricing metrics for the price-cap regime for letter mail items of up to 1000 grams as of January 1st 2019.
According to the draft decision, Deutsche Post AG is expected to have pricing scope of 10.63 percent as of July 1st 2019 on the basket of products that are subject to the price-cap regime. This decision is expected to be valid until December 31, 2021.
The final decision of the Federal Network Agency is expected by the end of May 2019. After the final decision Deutsche Post AG will be permitted to apply for the specific stamp price increases which will be valid from July 1st, 2019 onwards.
