Deutsche Post DHL looks to sell off StreetScooter

Deutsche Post DHL is reportedly planning to sell off StreetScooter – its subsidiary which makes electric delivery vehicles – according to Handelsblatt.

Speaking last Thursday night at the Wirtschaftspresseclub in Stuttgart,  CEO of Deutsche Post Frank Appel said: “But we are in no hurry, we will not get rid of it at any cost.”

Streetscooter, a start-up from Aachen University of Technology, was acquired by Deutsche Post DHL in 2014.

Today, the company is the market leader for electric light utility vehicles, having already sold more than 10,000 StreetScooters.

Recently, the largest Japanese logistics service provider Yamato ordered 500 vehicles.

Deutsche Post DHL is  reportedly in talks with various manufacturers.
