Hong Kong Post launches new electronic mail service

Hong Kong Post is turning a stumbling block into a stepping stone as it launches a new service to take advantage of consumers’ increasing preference for electronic mail over standard postal service. With regular mail deliveries in steady decline around the world, Hong Kong Post is repositioning itself by developing applications for securing and authenticating transactions over the Internet. Other postal services are adopting a similar strategy, with the US Postal Service unveiling a service that lets customers e-mail electronic documents to the agency for digital postmarking.
