New Chair of IPC

Matteo Del Fante, CEO of Poste Italiane, has taken over as Chair of the International Post Corporation (IPC) Board today at the Board’s meeting, which took place in Frankfurt. He succeeds Tone Wille, who has chaired the IPC Board since 2022. Mr Del Fante has been a member of the IPC Board since 2017. Board members elected him unanimously at their meeting in Dubrovnik in May.

Holger Winklbauer, IPC CEO, said: “We look forward to working with Matteo Del Fante in the years ahead to strengthen IPC’s role in helping postal operators through their transformation and in making them more competitive on the e-commerce market. On behalf of IPC’s members and staff, I also want to thank Tone Wille for her dedication and enthusiasm. Her support was instrumental to raise IPC’s profile and to shape our new strategy.”

Matteo Del Fante, IPC Chair, said: “I thank my fellow Board members for trusting me to head the IPC Board at such an important time for the postal industry marked by falling mail volumes, fast-changing cross-border e-commerce markets and increasing regulatory requirements. In this context, global postal cooperation through IPC matters more than ever, and IPC has a key role in helping posts through this transition.”

As Chair, Mr Del Fante will focus on delivering IPC’s strategy aimed at supporting the growth of sustainable cross-border e-commerce for posts while supporting the evolution of the mail business. He will also champion innovation and digitalisation within IPC to better serve the members.
