Mexican Sepomex signs agreement with Deutsche Post Global

The Mexican Postal Service (Sepomex) will soon be signing an agreement with the German mail company Deutsche Post Global, forming an international business alliance which will help Mexico increase its sales and globalize its services, stated Gustavo Islas, general director of Sepomex.

The official stated that with this agreement and the one Sepomex recently signed with the United States Postal Service (USPS), the company will be able to boost its profitability in just the next year or two. In addition Mexico will likely attract new business related to mail services as Deutshce is the owner of the US packing and correspondence firm DHL.

He added that Sepomex’s goal is to break even by 2006 as the company is still in the red:”We are halfway there, at the beginning of this presidential term we had 800 million pesos [USD69.87 million] in losses each year, but now we are up to a loss of 400 million pesos [USD34.93 million].
