Pall-Ex Europe with Hellman
Pall-Ex has launched Pall-Ex Europe, a full European service, in a partnership with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. The service will complement its existing partnerships in Spain, Germany and Scandinavia, says the network. Pallets will be transported to the Pall-Ex central hub in Leicestershire for onward trunking to Hellmanns hub in Niederaula, north-east of Frankfurt, from where HWL will deliver to all European destinations. The service will run 5 nights a week.
The announcemnt has raked up ill-feeling against Hellmann, which closed its UK pallets and parcels business in controversial circumstances last Decemter. One disgruntled Pall-Ex member tells Motor Transport: We wont be using them (Hellmann) because when weve used them in the past the service levels were diabolical. As far as were concerned it is bad news, he says.
A Pall-Ex spokesman says: Hellmann Worldwide Logistics is a different entitiy and there is no risk of any problems.
Hellmann is a well-established privately-owned firm.
