Chronopost 2003 turnover up 7%

Chronopost International, the express distribution arm of the French post office, expects its 2003 turnover to show an increase of just over 7% on the previous levels, French business newspaper Les Echos reported. Chronopost CEO, Gilles Moutel said maket conditions in 2003 had been the porest for 5 years and that there are few signs of recovery in the sector.
Nevertheless, turnover is expected to total EUR 712 million compared to EUR 665 million in 2003. On the domestic market specifically, where Cronopost continues to generate the majority of its revenues, the growth in turnover is likely to be of the same order even though traffic volumes have only increased by 3%.
