Spanish Seur Posts 256.1 Mln Euro Turnover H1 2004

Spanish express mail courier Seur Internacional Express S.A posted a turnover of 256.1mln euro ($316.5 mln) for the first half of 2004, an 8.1 pct year-on-year increase, the company said on October 14, 2004.

The increase was mainly due to the 23 pct year-on-year rise in international shipments between January and June 2004 after the alliance with French parcels company Geopost, a unit of French state-owned postal service Le Poste. In July 2004, Geopost acquired 12.5 pct of Seur from the Spanish company’s founder Justo Yufera.

Seur (www.seur.es) eyes a turnover of 544.6 mln euro ($673 mln) for full 2004, a 9.0 pct year-on-year increase. The international shipments are expected to rise by 25 pct.

Seur closed 2003 with a fleet of 3,988 vehicles. The work force of the company stood at 7,940 at end-2003.
