DHL Global Mail strengthens international mail network in Europe

DHL Global Mail is further expanding its domestic mail activities in the United Kingdom, thereby strengthening Deutsche Post World Net’s international mail network. The goal is to offer business customers in all important United Kingdom trade centers domestic and international mail services, possible until now only in Greater London. Additionally, Global Mail’s British network will be expanded by additional regional distribution centers by year-end. The first new center, where operations have just started up, is located in Manchester and serves Northwest England.
The case of the United Kingdom is an example of the successful entry of Deutsche Post World Net into a domestic mail market. In addition to the purchase of its own long-term license, the Group acquired the British mail service provider, Speedmail International, in January 2004. After just over a year, Speedmail is now fully integrated into the brand for international mail business, DHL Global Mail. Building on the experience gained in the London metropolis, DHL Global Mail is now in an exceptional starting position for offering nationwide mail services. Rounding off the entry into the British mail market is the now-launched set-up of a self-run domestic network. DHL Global Mail offers customers in the United Kingdom pick-up and delivery of domestic and international business mail, as well as value added services such as processing of in-house company mail.
Today, with DHL Global Mail, Deutsche Post World Net is already one of the leading global companies in the international mail business. Global Mail maintains direct connections in more than 200 countries, and is also increasingly present in domestic mail markets such as the USA, the Netherlands, France and Spain.
