Amtrak wins delivery contracts

Amtrak has won delivery contracts with electronics retailers Watford Electronics and Empire Direct, both of which have major commerce operations. The carrier will deliver up to 25,000 parcels a month as sole overnight delivery provider for Empire Direct and up to 2,000 consignments a day for Watford customers.

Amtrak is providing home deliveries for EmpireDirect.co.uk. The contract sees Amtrak delivering up to 25,000 parcels a month on next-day services to homes throughout the UK. The deal doubles Amtraks business, after Empire decided to award it the bulk of its overnight parcel business.
