TNT contract: major boost

TNT Logistics has won a contrat valued at well in excess of GBP100m with IVLA, a Danish retailer with big plans to launch in the UK.
In what is seen as a major challenge to Ikea, ILVA will open superstores in Thurrock, Londin in May and also in Mancheter and Gateshead.
TNT will manage all warehousing, store replenishment and a high volume of ‘white glove’ home deliveries a year; it will also be responsible for the customer call centre,
ILVA UK head of logistics Peter Calers says: ‘TNT Logistics has the experience, systems and the people we need and the flexibility to handle rapid growth.’
The contract will create 550 new jobs at Doncaster and Hull and is a major boost for the UK contractor, which has also renewed a £21m 3 year contract with Nissan.
