70 staff go at DHL Express

DHL has confirmed that it is to make up to 70 people redundant across its Express business in the UK in a drive to improve efficiency.
A spokesman, denying an anonymous telephone call to Motor Transport saying that 250 people were to go, says: ‘We are currently in consultation with the employees and union involved.’
But the caller told MT that the company is avoiding the 90-day consultation period and those involved have to leave by December 31. ‘Everyone is very unhappy at the moment and morale is at an all time low.’
