UK Government: Kim Howells welcomes plans for postal services Consumer Council

Consumer Affairs Minister, Dr Kim Howells, welcomed proposals announced today for the organisation of a new strong consumer body for users of postal services. The proposals for the Consumer Council for Postal Services, which is to be set up under the Postal Services Act 2000, were put forward by Peter Carr, Chairman of the Post Office Users’ National Council and Chairman-designate of the new Consumer Council for Postal Services following an extensive consultation exercise.
