Omniva buys Estonian start-up Parcelsea

As part of its drive to expand its parcel delivery services in the Baltic region, Omniva has acquired Parcelsea – an Estonia-based start-up that manages a network of 700 smart parcel boxes.

In acquiring the company, Omniva has also secured the rights to expand the network of smart boxes in all Baltic countries.

Access to the smart boxes will continue to be ‘open’, which means that all courier companies operating in Estonia will be able to deliver goods to them.

Marto Mägi, chairman of the Omniva board, was quoted as saying: “Parcel and postal services are becoming more and more individualized, so we want to provide all users with modern solutions close to home. We hope that in the future, everyone will be able to use a smart parcel box at home or with a neighbour. This service allows anyone who wants to order essential goods and other products to their home.”
