Poczta Polska’s new logistics facility to enhance the handling of increasing parcel volumes
Poland’s postal service, Poczta Polska, is set to launch a hi-tech logistics complex near Warsaw, reports Polskie Radio.

The Warsaw II hub, located to the north of the Polish capital and spread over 11 hectares, is expected to begin operations in the first half of next year.

The Polish postal operator sees the hub as a central node for processing courier, express and parcel shipments, reflecting a strategic shift from letter delivery infrastructure towards its ambition to lead Poland’s courier service market.

Krzysztof Falkowski, CEO of Poczta Polska, highlighted the importance of the project, noting that the strategic proximity to Warsaw will enhance the handling of an increasing volume of parcel and pallet shipments and streamline logistics processes.

By mid-2024, the facility will be equipped with the company’s largest parcel sorter. Installation of the sorter for automatic parcel distribution began in July this year, with the construction phase recently completed.

The logistics complex comprises three buildings, including a cross-dock hall that covers over 12,000 square meters and features high-storage warehousing and a commercial distribution center serving postal outlets in Poland’s central Mazovia region.

The facility is designed for easy access and loading, with 36 hydraulic ramps catering to a wide range of delivery vehicles.

A second hall, spanning over 28,000 square meters, will facilitate shipment processes, including machine sorting with a dedicated area for oversized parcels.

With 60 courier gates and a 5,000 square meter canopy for simultaneous unloading and loading of about 80 courier vehicles, the hub is designed to expedite logistics.
