Chief Commercial Officer appointed to scale sennder’s business

sennder, a  digital road freight forwarder in Europe, has announced the appointment of a key senior executive, with Katherine Boesen as new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) joining the company as of February 2024, for the next step in the company’s growth journey.

Based in Berlin, the new Chief Commercial Officer, Katherine Boesen, brings extensive international logistics experience, having held senior management positions at DB Schenker, Swissport, and Damco in Europe and Asia. Before joining sennder, she led the commercial activities for Land Transport Europe at DB Schenker. With a career spanning more than 20 years of experience in the industry, her credentials include driving commercial success in category-defining businesses and fostering sustainability innovation, which are of critical importance to sennder and which she will apply to the business.

As Chief Commercial Officer, Katherine Boesen’s focus will be on scaling sennder’s business, elevating internal capabilities and fostering a culture of customer-centricity and innovation across the organization. She will oversee the countries and regions where sennder is active and lead the Regional, Central Commercial, and the Strategy, Planning, and Pricing divisions. In her newly created role, she will strategically enhance sennder’s customer relationships, particularly with holistic control tower solutions, and to further scale the impact of green offerings on the business.

David Nothacker, Chief Executive Officer, sennder says: “Katherine is a commercial powerhouse and brings to sennder a wealth of impressive experience to provide even better solutions to our shippers and carriers, contributing to achieve sennder’s 2024 targets and future success. With a background in engineering, she has worked extensively with fast-growing market leaders, and her expertise in the field presents a unique opportunity to drive sennder’s expansion. As we work towards our ambition to become Europe’s largest road freight forwarder in the FTL sector, Katherine’s skills and expertise will help us build the internal capabilities to achieve this goal. We are very pleased to be welcoming such a valuable profile to our team as we continue to expand our senior bench and enter the next phase of growth.”

Katherine Boesen, Chief Commercial Officer, sennder, says: “I am thrilled to be joining sennder at a pivotal moment in our industry. In the current market environment, forward-thinking solutions are needed to address supply chain disruptions and environmental concerns. With the powerful combination of industry experience with innovative thinking, and our ability to be agile and move fast, sennder is well-positioned to help shape the future of the industry and grow profitably in the market. I am excited to join the team and bring the power of sennder’s digital platform to the forefront, unlocking unparalleled value for our shippers. Our technology is a game-changer in enhancing transparency, operational performance, and access to capacity, setting a new standard in the road freight sector.”
