Post Danmark to launch web-based services

OCT 24, 2000, M2 Communications – Post Danmark, the Danish national postal service, plans to launch a range of Internet-based services.

The company is reportedly looking at electronic communications as it has been estimated that on a global scale, five times as many e-mail messages are sent as traditional letters. The postal service has lost market share to electronic communications in recent years, as traditional mail is becoming less popular.

‘Web E-Post’, (web e-mail) a service that enables customers to send a letter as e-mail and have it printed and sent as a normal letter the following day, is to be launched at the start of next year, according to Danish radio online.
