Value & market share of German, European & International mail market

Deutsche Post is the largest European postal operator with turnover of 10.2 billion euros from its mail division in 1999, which handles domestic mail and mail originating in Germany. It has 24 percent of all west European markets which have a combined value of some 47 billion euros. In Germany, Deutsche Post has a monopoly on letters under 200 grams until December 31, 2002. Its share of the entire letters market, including liberalized segments, is 95.8 percent.
