YEEP! helps reduce Last-Mile Delivery Traffic Across London

YEEP!, a UK open parcel locker network, has announced a new partnership with Places for London (the TfL Property Company) representing a significant milestone in the expansion of parcel locker access across the capital.

The partnership will see YEEP! solar-powered parcel lockers introduced at more than 50 locations operated by Transport for London (TfL) across the city. Starting with car parks at Tube stations, the first locker has been installed at South Woodford, with work on installing lockers at a further 10 car parks already underway. Broader rollout plans at additional locations are being explored for future phases.

Located outside Tube stations and designed to fit into existing commuter journeys, the lockers will allow Londoners 24/7 access to collect, send and return parcels while on the move, providing additional out-of-home delivery and return options that can be conveniently accessed alongside existing travel routines.

The announcement also marks an important development in a collaboration that began in 2019, when TfL commissioned research into the impact of parcel delivery growth across London. The project explored how evolving delivery infrastructure could support changing consumer habits while aligning with the Mayor’s transport priorities, including reducing congestion and improving air quality. The work brought together industry stakeholders to explore how open out-of-home networks could play a greater role in future delivery infrastructure.

Years of network modelling, customer research and industry collaboration helped establish the foundations and operating principles behind a dense open parcel network – work that informed the thinking and approach that would ultimately become YEEP!’s open locker model today.

Commenting on the announcement, Jamie Dickinson, CEO of YEEP!, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Places for London (the TfL Property Company) in what is a genuinely significant moment for YEEP! and for the continued deployment of out-of-home parcel services across London.

“This partnership is about integrating parcel services into places that already form part of people’s daily journeys, giving consumers additional flexibility around how they collect, send and return parcels. It also provides a compelling opportunity to support more efficient delivery networks that can help reduce unnecessary journeys, ease congestion and contribute to broader efforts to lower CO2 emissions across the capital.

“What makes this partnership especially meaningful is the journey behind it. The thinking and ambition that helped shape YEEP! began with TfL several years ago, and seeing that vision now come full circle is incredibly rewarding.”

Gordana Hauselmaier, Commercial Asset Manager at Places for London, said: “Parcel lockers provide convenience to customers, as well as helping us reduce congestion caused by deliveries on our roads, therefore reducing traffic noise and improving London’s air quality. It’s great that we are now working with YEEP! to further support Londoners’ demand for online shopping in a sustainable manner.”

With more than 3,000 lockers already live nationwide, YEEP! continues to expand across transport hubs, retail destinations, residential communities and public spaces as part of its ambition to build one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing open parcel locker networks.
