Christmas deliveries could still be blighted by problems

A BBC report suggests that 10% of online UK shoppers are unhappy with deliveries.

A BBC report suggests that 10% of online shoppers are unhappy with deliveries.
Problems were compounded last year by a postal strike that saw delivery offices backlogged with mail.

1-in-10 customers experience problems with deliveries on the first attempt, made more complex by the sheer number of courier companies, all of which have their own policies on getting goods to customers.

James Roper of the IMRG, was optimistic and that they have launched a scheme to help retailers select the right courier to suit the needs of retailers and customers but so far, only 400 retailers have signed up to the scheme.

Royal Mail has put in additional resources to improve the way Christmas deliveries are handled and is continuing to restructure and invest in improvements to its service but it is thought that thousands of customers could still find themselves short of the odd present or two through leaving things to the last minute, badly addressed packages or through failed deliveries through any of the postal and courier services in the UK.
