Under the Chairmanship of Jean-Paul Bailly, La Poste’s Board of Directors approved the Group’s 2009 budget.

The Group’s financial forecast takes into account the prospect of an important economic slowdown in France and Europe in 2009.

In this difficult context, the Group must stabilise its 2009 operating margin to match 2008 figures, meaning between 3.5 and 4% including non-recurrent items.

The Group will accelerate its modernisation programme in 2009 with a slight increase in internal investments at 1.3 billion euros.

It will significantly contribute to economic reflation in France by intensifying its post office refurbishment programme and also its promising investments in sustainable development particularly in terms of property and industrial tools.
