TPG to buy UK data management company from Lason Inc

TNT Post Group (TPG), the Netherlands-based mail, express and logistics organisation, is set to expand its value-added service capabilities in Europe by acquiring a British company specialising in data capture, database management and output services.

The acquisition being lined up is Lason UK Group, part of USA-based Lason Inc. The latter, which in addition to the US also has operations in Canada, Mexico, India, Mauritius and the Caribbean, provides integrated information management services, “transforming data into effective business communication through capturing, transforming and activating critical documents”.

TPG says the planned purchase of Lason UK, which will be made through subsidiary company PTT Post, is scheduled to be completed next month, subject to due diligence checks. “With this acquisition, TPG will further expand its mail activities in distribution-related, value-added services in Europe. This is in line with its strategy,” comments a TPG spokesperson.

She adds that PTT Post already offers a “full range” of value-added data and document handling services in the Netherlands, with similar services also available in Belgium, Austria and the UK.
