eBay’s Bill Me Later allows buying postal products online

USPS announced on 15 June its plans to integrate its Click-N-Ship online application with eBay’s Bill Me Later online billing service.

USPS announced on 15 June its plans to integrate its Click-N-Ship online application with eBay’s Bill Me Later online billing service.

This new service will let users pay for postal products online without using a credit card, instead they are to be billed at a later date. It will help customers to manage their cash flow by receiving a monthly statement for the postage.

USPS intends to roll out a more tightly integrated system for printing postage for items sold on eBay, previously announced by eBay in April.

Currently, the new USPS service is working in the following way:

• After user sold an item and buyer transferred payment, the customer goes to eBay’s Selling Manager page.

• They choose Print Postage (as shown in the accompanying image), and goes to the Web site of eBay’s payment service, PayPal.

• They log in to PayPal and goes to a form for printing postage.

• Then the customer fills out the form with the size of the package and other details, and then prints out label.

• They log in to PayPal so the postage can be automatically deducted from his PayPal account.
