Earth Class Mail release updated web application

Earth Class Mail (ECM) has announced the official release of its updated postal-mail web application to customers worldwide.

Earth Class Mail (ECM) has announced the official release of its updated postal-mail web application to customers worldwide.

The new user interface, which has been used by thousands of ECM customers in a Beta phase for the past several weeks, allows customers to receive, read and manage their postal mail on the web with features similar to those found in popular email client applications.

The release represents the first major upgrade of the product’s user interface since the launch of Earth Class Mail in April 2006. The application is also being licensed to Swiss Post for the online postal-mail service that it will soon officially launch in Europe under the brand name Swiss Post Box.

Among the key features and benefits of the new application:

– Customised folders allow users to organize and store digital versions of their postal-mail items the same way they archive their email messages.
– Mail items can be filtered by category so users can quickly locate and retrieve them regardless of where they’re filed.
– When a user requests that mail be securely opened and scanned, the scanned contents are visible in the same browser window; there’s no need to download anything or launch a separate viewer application.
– The new shipping wizard lets users quickly and easily forward-ship mail items to any destination.
– Enlarged views of envelopes appear on hover, allowing users to quickly distinguish important mail items from unwanted mail.

“The feedback we received from customers who used the Beta version was extremely positive,” said Earth Class Mail president Sarah Carr. “We’re confident that the new application will have a significant positive impact on new sign-ups and customer satisfaction for both our service and Swiss Post Box’s.”
