STAMP OUT POST OFFICE CRITICISM.

I AM sick of criticism of Royal Mail (Letters, Sunday Express, April 8). If the
public could see the many poorly addressed letters, with unreadable writing
and no post code, then they may understand the scale of what we face daily.
Mail is completely cleared daily in my delivery office, and anyone who
withholds mail is usually dismissed. Now we have a regulator, who will give our business away. He does not realise
that it is an integrated service, with each part relying on the rest – the
rail network has let us down badly and our delivery targets are missed. When
other licences to deliver are granted, look for a postal service in this
country which rivals that of the best banana republic’s. It will cost a lot
more, and I doubt rural areas will have a daily service. Then this Government
will have what it really wants – a privatised service to make money for a few,
