La Poste: union demands pay increases for contractual employees

Yesterday French trade union FO demanded pay increases for the 70,000
contractual employees working for the French post office (La Poste). Pay
negotiations for 2001 are expected to open during the next few days.
The union is also demanding a revision of the payment system in the group’s
class 4 division, where contractual workers earn more than civil servants
for doing the same job, and in other divisions, where the opposite is true.
