Consignia buys stake in Czech parcel company

Consignia announced today it has bought a 25.1 per cent stake in the Czech parcel company, General Parcel Czechy spol. s.r.o. from the German Geis Group. The deal represents an initial investment of around £1 million.

GP Czechy is part of the General Parcel network and provides national and international parcel distribution and warehousing from eight depots across the Czech Republic.

Jerry Cope, Consignia’s Group Managing Director Strategy & Business Development, said: “We are delighted to be making this investment in General Parcel Czechy, which has already established a strong reputation in the Czech Republic for high quality service in a growing market.

“This latest investment underlines Consignia’s determination to expand its international services to become a global player in the distribution market.”
