Romanian Post to lay-off staff

Romanian Post is to lay-off large parts of its workforce Although no numbers have yet to be released, the redundancies will form a part of the company’s restructuring and modernisation strategy.

The operator is part owned by the State (75%), together with the Property fund (25%).

The decision follows the announcement that a quarter of employees at the Romanian Communications Ministry will be made redundant.

In total, 200,000 of the country’s public sector workers face the axe.
